Sally the Sound Seal narrates…..Let’s play a sound matching game! To play
this game you need the activity book that has the baseball player on the front.
Do you have the activity book with the baseball player on the front? Great! Here
we go…..For this game we are going to find words that start with the same sound.
Open your activity book. Are you on the page with the picture of the baseball field?
Good. Remember, we are looking for words that start with the same sound. Ready?
On first base you will see a picture of a bat, a car, and a boy. Do you see them?
Great. Put your finger on the picture of the bat. Say bat (pause). Bat starts with
the /b/ sound. What sound does bat start with? (pause) Did you say /b/ Great job!!
Now…put your finger on the picture of the car. Say car (pause). Car starts with
the /k/ sound. What sound does car start with? (pause) Did you say /k/? Way to go!
Next, put your finger on the picture of the boy. Say boy (pause) Boy starts with
the /b/ sound. What sound does boy start with? (pause) Did you say /b/? Nice job!
Now, I want you to listen carefully to the words and tell me which word starts with
the /b/ sound like bat. Car or boy. (pause) Lift the flap and look under the picture
of the bat to see if you are right. I hope you said boy!!
Great job, you have made it to first base! Bat starts with the /b/ sound and boy
starts with the /b/ sound. They match! You are doing a great job matching sounds!
